The First-Timers Guide to Ideal Barbers

If you have never been to Ideal Barbers, here is exactly what happens, so there are no surprises.

You book online. You pick a barber, a time slot, and a location. Our booking runs on time, not service names: 15, 30, 45, or 60 minutes, or the full 120-minute Ideal Experience. If it is your first visit, book the 45. It gives your barber room to learn your hair and get it right.

You will put a card on file. That is what reserves your barber time, the same way a hotel holds your room. You are only charged if you miss the appointment without proper notice.

When you arrive at Grant Park, we are in the Larkin Memorial Shopping Center, upstairs above Lush Nail Bar. Parking is free in the lot and on the street, but the cross streets are tight, so come a few minutes early and use the call box (217) at the entrance. At Pittsburgh Yards, parking is free all around the building at 352 University Ave.

Your barber starts with a consultation. Bring a picture of what you want. Talk through it. This is the most important part of the visit, and we do not rush it.

Then the cut. Appointment-only means no walk-ins ahead of you, no waiting room, no hoping. Your time is yours. If we ever run more than 15 minutes behind, you get a $15 credit automatically. That has not happened often.

Before you leave, book your next visit. You will take $15 off it. Most of our clients come every two to three weeks, and the ones who rebook before leaving never have to think about it again.
